Updates disabled since 2025-08-20, see you next year!
This is a minimal map created in 2023 to let my cpu fans stay quiet while following the TCR - the official version at followmychallenge.com proves to be too heavy for the little table top machine (since 2024 there is a minimal mode too). My potato phone struggles with the hillshading in my edition still so it's disabled by default (bottom left menu). It is updated every 5 minutes and has a minimal set of rider data.
To track and zoom on a participants cap number in a bookmark or url, add ?id=1 or ?id=tcrno11cap1 to the url or use the upper right search box. It tries to search riders names too.
If someone official does not want me to run this publicly, please mail: entschuldigung hab-verschlafen.de (this is a proper address).
Thanks to dotwatcher.cc, tiles from OpenStreetMaps, tracestrack and osm.ch. To Mapzen for assembling extra hillshades.
This is basically a general purpose geojson-file based minimap. This page was built using:
At hda3.dev/tcrno10 was another minimal map made by @gjo that is much more elegantly written, has favouriting and does autoupdating.
Happy dotwatching & good riding!
PS: If the browser has prefers-reduced-motion set to 'reduce', Leaflet will disable CSS translate3d transforms.
PPS: at least one Firefox bugreport came out of using Leaflet.js for this in 2023. The regression was understood and a fix released Feb' 2025 in v135.
